Women’s professional and personal development organizations in Nashville


March is Women’s History Month and International Women’s Day is Friday, March 8 but we should be celebrating the women that move our city forward every day. 

Here are a few of the organizations that support and uplift professional women in Nashville.

Pathway WBC – Pathway Women’s Business Center offers networking and educational events, mentoring opportunities, resources for women in business, and training programs in Nashville. Pathway WBC is funded in part through the U.S. Small Business Administration and is partners with Pathway Lending.

CABLE – CABLE is an organization devoted to promoting the professional advancement of women in Nashville. Along with regular monthly luncheons, CABLE advocates for professional women and recognizes their achievements with the Athena Awards during Women’s History Month in March.

NAWBO Nashville – The National Association of Women Business Owner’s Nashville chapter gives women business owners a chance to connect, learn, grow and advocate with other women in the Nashville community. This membership organization holds regular networking and educational events to help women business owners grow their companies.

Women in Music –Women in Music is an organization that works to “advance the awareness, equality, diversity, heritage, opportunities, and cultural aspects of women in the musical arts through education, support, empowerment, and recognition.” The Nashville chapter of Women in Music aims to make Music City more equitable.

National Coalition of 100 Black Women – Metro Nashville Chapter – The Metro Nashville chapter of this national organization has more than 50 members in the region and uses their knowledge and resources to elevate the professional development and growth of women of color in Middle Tennessee. In Nashville, their key messages include education, economic development and health.

Junior League of Nashville – This chapter of the national Junior League organization is “committed to developing the potential of women as leaders and grassroots volunteers.” Junior League of Nashville is a membership organization that allows women in the Nashville community to give back through volunteerism.

The New Beginnings Center – The New Beginnings Center offers women a chance to focus on improving their health which can have a positive impact on every aspect of their lives, including their careers. Their holistic, individualized health coaching to low-income women in the Nashville area is helping women improve their quality of life.

Women have had a huge impact on Nashville’s economy. The organizations that help support the development of more women leaders are an important part of the Nashville community.
