Economic Recovery Group issues guidance for restaurants and retail, with additional guidance for other industries expected this week

Early last week, Governor Bill Lee announced plans to re-open the state’s economy and to allow businesses to return to work through several phases. These plans apply to 89 of the state’s 95 counties, with the six counties that operate their own health departments having the ability to develop unique plans. These counties include Davidson, Hamilton, Knox, Madison, Shelby, and Sullivan. The Governor’s Economic Recovery Group (ERG) was assembled to create guidance for specific industries as they return to work, and last Friday morning, it revealed guidance for restaurants and retail establishments. The ERG is expected to reveal guidance for other industries this week. The ERG will develop this guidance following the consideration of industry-specific subcommittees, which delivered reports to the administration last week.
