Do you want to impact the career development of 7,000 students in one day?

The Talent team at the Nashville Area Chamber of Commerce supports members with increasing access to our local workforce by facilitating talent supply solutions.

For example, the Academies of Nashville provide students with one of the best career and college preparation experiences in the nation. Students have a choice of 39 different career academies within the 12 high schools of Metro Nashville Public Schools, offering a practical, hands-on approach to learning in fields that interest them ranging from engineering to healthcare.

Powered by Metro Nashville Public Schools, PENCIL, the Nashville Area Chamber of Commerce, and Alignment Nashville, the Academies empower students through career exposure to make timely, informed decisions and discover their true passions while earning early college credit and nationally-recognized industry certifications. General education content is taught through the lens of their academy while more than 350 business partners provide experiential learning opportunities at every grade level, supporting students along an education-to-career pathway into your business.

The Career Exploration Fair on November 15th, 2019, at the Music City Center helps 7,000 freshmen be set up for success, but this is not a traditional job fair.

Students use an assessment of their aptitudes and interests to engage in meaningful conversations and hands-on activities with employers at the Career Exploration Fair.

Register your business here for the Career Exploration Fair. Contact Courtney Morgan, Program Manager, Academies of Nashville at Courtney.Morgan@mnps.org if you have any questions.

ABOUT TALENT DEVELOPMENT AT THE NASHVILLE CHAMBER

Middle Tennessee is a magnet for talent, young graduates and the types of workers new, growing industries seek. While our region supports many innovative and aggressive local programs to recruit workers to the region, many of Nashville's most valuable workers come from the area's own vast educational system, with its 21 accredited four-year and postgraduate institutions. More than 100,000 students are enrolled in higher education in the Nashville area, the largest concentration in a four-state region. We retain 60% of these graduates annually in our region. More than 35% of adults in the Nashville region have a bachelor's degree or higher, and more than 110,000 people have graduate or professional degrees.
