3 ways young professionals can get more connected to Nashville

Nashville is attracting a lot of young professionals thanks to a strong economy and a reputation for high quality of life.

Here are some stats that break down why Middle Tennessee has become a destination for young professionals:

  • 29% of the population is between the ages of 20 and 39 according to the 2016 census;
  • The Nashville Metro area has one of the lowest unemployment rates in the country (2.7%), and had one of the highest increases in employment (3.9%), according to the BLS statistics in January 2019;
  • 7.3% of Davidson County businesses are in the Arts, Entertainment and Recreation industries, meaning we have a lot of fun things to do.

But how can young professionals moving to Nashville get better connected to the community? Here are three ways to see what’s going on in Middle Tennessee and how you can be involved.

Check out the YP Nashville events calendar

YP Nashville is devoted to helping young professional organizations in Nashville spread the word about what they offer for YPs in the region. This partnership between area nonprofits and businesses and the Nashville Area Chamber of Commerce is a great starting point for YPs looking to find a way to get plugged in to an organization in Nashville.

One of the ways we conduct outreach is through our events calendar. Member organizations can post their upcoming events for YPs to be shared among our audience. See what events are coming up for young professionals on the calendar here.
