Most legislative priorities upheld in 2018 State Legislative Scorecard


Every year, we release a legislative scorecard that outlines the actions taken by lawmakers regarding our priorities as an organization dedicated to the continued economic success of the Nashville region.

The 2018 Legislative Scorecard shows that the state legislature took action supporting most of our legislative priorities this year. These priorities include creating an environment where business can prosper, talent development for the region's workforce and ensuring a quality of life that attracts and retains residents and workers.

Among the legislative wins for 2018 were:

  1. Creating a framework small cell technology to improve cellular infrastructure
  2. Reducing the expungement fee for all eligible convicted offenses from $350 to $180 to help individuals leaving the criminal justice system be more employable and productive
  3. Allowing previously incarcerated individuals a chance to earn professional licenses, provided the license is unrelated to past crimes
  4. Maintaining accountability and benchmarking provided by current annual assessments in k-12 schools
