Help build a healthy future for Nashville – take the survey

Since October, more than 12,000 randomly-selected households in Davidson County have received the Nashville Community Health + Well-being Survey.

This survey is the first county-wide health survey of its kind in almost 20 years. How can you help and how will data be used to help ALL Nashville residents?

If you received the survey, the best way to help is to make sure you fill it out and return it by January 31, 2019. Your answers will help researchers get a clear picture of the health of Nashville residents, so our community can identify the areas where we are thriving, and the areas where we could use more help. The results of this survey will help non-profits, businesses and government organizations better understand and serve the needs of our community.

If you didn’t receive the survey, you can still help! First, ask friends and family if they received the survey and encourage them to take it. Having community support will be the best way to make sure the survey results reflect the health of all Nashville residents. Second, learn more about the mission of the survey and how to get involved with Nashville health initiatives at HealthyNashvlle.org.

It's critical that we understand the health of our county's residents for several reasons, but the most compelling for businesses is understanding the health challenges of their current and potential employees. If an employer can help identify the health needs of Nashville's workforce, they can begin to implement programs that mitigate those issues and help employees be healthy and productive in the workplace. The Nashville Community Health + Well-being Survey is directed by the Metro Public Health Department of Davidson County (MPHD) and NashvilleHealth, a non-profit dedicated to making Nashville one of the healthiest places to live.
