Nashville Emerging Leader Awards Announce the 2017 Finalists

In it’s 11th year, the Nashville awards that honor young professionals who show outstanding leadership are up for grabs once again. The Nashville Chamber of Commerce and YP Nashville are proud to announce the finalists for the 2017 Nashville Emerging Leader Awards (NELAs).

The NELAs program is designed to recognize Middle Tennessee’s young professionals (YP) under the age of 40 for significant accomplishments in their chosen field as well as their commitment and contribution to the community. This year’s finalists are fantastic examples of the amazing young business leaders who make Nashville such a vibrant place to live and work.

This year’s awards are the most competitive yet. We received more than 800 nominations of outstanding young professionals from the business community. A committee comprised of a diverse group of community leaders and experts within each industry had the difficult task of selecting these finalists from such a highly qualified group. The finalists were selected based on their answers to essay questions, level of professional achievement, demonstrated leadership and community impact.

"We are proud to recognize this talented group of finalists for the 2017 NELAs. The Nashville Chamber and YP Nashville are committed to building the next generation of leaders, and these young professionals recognized today possess strong leadership and a proven commitment to the continued prosperity of our community,” says Nashville Area Chamber of Commerce President and CEO Ralph Schulz.

The finalists in each of the 14 industry classifications can be found here.

The NELAs program also includes the YP Nashville Impact Award, which honors a business leader making a significant impact in terms of community leadership and professional development of Nashville’s young professionals and their organizations. The 2017 Impact Award winner is Mary Ann McCready, president and founding owner of Flood, Bumstead, McCready & McCarthy. She will be honored with the NELAs finalists and winners at the NELAs ceremony on Thursday, Aug. 3.

A reception for the NELAs finalists will be held Thursday, June 29 at The Cordelle in Nashville; the 11th annual NELAs ceremony will be held Thursday, Aug. 3 at Lipscomb University. The awards ceremony will be followed by an after-party at Richland Country Club. The awards are presented by Lipscomb University College of Business, and are sponsored by Bradley, Atiba and Nashville Post.
