Nashville Vital Signs 2017 Report Released

Our 2017 Vital Signs report is now available to download on our website. This report was presented on Wednesday, October 11 to the Middle Tennessee Mayors Caucus

This report gathers the most important data from our region into a format that is easy to read and understand. This data includes information on mobility, health, education, population, economy and affordability. The purpose of the Vital Signs report is to stimulate community discussion of potential solutions to current and emerging challenges in our region.

As the push for transit solutions gains steam with the Transit for Nashville Coalition, we are continuing to focus on transit issues. This report shows that our region needs to address the problems of congestion now, with 78% of the region’s population saying they experience more traffic now than one year ago.

The data in this year’s Vital Signs report also shows that we should be focusing on our region’s health. A healthy workforce is a productive workforce and we can definitely increase our region’s health with strategic interventions from every angle, including through employers.

Education is a significant focus for the Chamber. The data in this report shows that the efforts to improve educational attainment are paying off with increasing high school graduation rates and steady increases in adults with post-secondary degrees.
