Nashville Chamber Welcomes New Hires and Expands Team


Our staff is growing here at the Chamber. We are excited to announce the addition of five new staff members and the promotion of six existing staff members as an expansion of our team.

Michelle Gaskin Brown has joined the Chamber as the new Vice President of Policy. She brings six years of legislative experience to the role, having served as an attorney in the Tennessee General Assembly. Among other initiatives, Michelle will be taking over the day-to-day policy work at the Metro level. 

Maggie Wortendyke has joined the Chamber as the new Manager of Events. Most recently, she worked for the 2017 Reebok CrossFit Games and has also planned PGA and IndyCar events.

Samantha Perez has joined the Chamber’s team as Policy Director. She will be working on the Chamber’s K-12 education initiatives. Perez previously served as the Director of Policy with the Metro Human Relations Commission.

Andrea Albers has fulfilled a new role as Director of Public Relations and Social Media. She will serve as a Chamber spokeswoman and point of contact for local and national media. Previously, Albers worked as a television news anchor and assistant news director.

Carly Vaughn has joined the Chamber as a digital content strategist. Vaughn has a creative writing degree from Vanderbilt and will support cross-channel digital marketing strategies for the organization.

Rita McDonald has been promoted to Vice President of Member Relations. In this expanded leadership role McDonald will oversee the entire member revenue team including new member sales.

Kate Chinn has moved into a broader leadership role as Senior Vice President of Growth. She will be responsible for the Growth team’s planning and budgeting processes and will support the Chamber’s sponsorship and marketing and communications functions. Chinn will continue to lead the investor relations team.

Jeff Hite has moved to a new leadership role as Senior Vice President of Economic Development and will oversee the Chamber’s project management team.

Gina Brown has been promoted to Vice President of Economic Development with a focus on business recruitment.

Katie Sharp has been promoted to Manager of Economic Development.  Among other responsibilities, Sharp will begin work on economic development projects.

Lori Odom is now the Chamber’s Vice President of International Business and will lead additional international economic development projects.
