Apply or Nominate Today for the 2017 Nashville Emerging Leader Awards

In coming years, it’s projected that young professionals (YPs) will make up the majority of the workforce. That means YOU (or someone you know or work with) will soon be stepping up and becoming the force tasked with shaping Middle Tennessee. (From the perspective of a current YP, that can be quite an intimidating thought.)

What exactly does it mean to be a young professional, you ask? For our purpose, we consider YPs to be civically engaged, entrepreneurial members of Nashville’s workforce under the age of 40 who are vital players in Nashville’s growing economy and robust volunteer community.

Here at the Nashville Chamber, one of our main focuses is attracting and retaining a strong workforce across the Middle Tennessee region, and YPs account for a major component of that effort. To honor and celebrate outstanding young leaders in this region, YP Nashville annually hosts the Nashville Emerging Leader Awards (NELAs), and since the implementation of the NELAs program in 2006, more than 600 young professionals have been recognized as finalists and received awards across 15 industry categories.

Starting Jan. 17, we will be accepting applications for the 2017 NELAs. If you are a YP working in the Middle Tennessee region and have made significant accomplishments in your professional and volunteer work, make sure you apply to be recognized! If you know an outstanding YP who deserves recognition, we also highly encourage nominations.
