The Mechanical Licensing Collective

The Mechanical Licensing Collective (The MLC) is a nonprofit organization designated by the U.S. Copyright Office pursuant to the historic Music Modernization Act of 2018. Starting in January 2021, The MLC will issue and administer blanket mechanical licenses to eligible streaming and download services (digital service providers or DSPs) in the United States. The MLC will then collect the royalties due under those licenses from the DSPs and pay songwriters, composers, lyricists, and music publishers. 

Nashville Songwriters Association International

The Nashville Songwriters Association International (NSAI) is the world’s largest not-for-profit songwriters trade association. Established in 1967, the membership of more than 5,000 active and professional members spans the United States and foreign countries. NSAI is dedicated to protecting the rights of and serving aspiring and professional songwriters in all genres of music.

SESAC is a performing rights organization with an international reach and a vast repertory that spans virtually every genre of music. SESAC is an innovative and technologically adept performing rights organization.

Songpreneurs is an online resource for songwriter entrepreneurs. Songpreneurs.com provides high quality educational materials, including innovative workbooks, classes, and video course modules from songwriter Amanda Colleen Williams.

Sound Royalties is specialty finance firm that helps music industry professionals fund personal and professional projects without losing ownership of their copyrights and allowing for overflow income. Sound Royalties offers royalty advances between $5,000 and $10 million by advancing artist, producer and songwriter royalties paid through music labels, distributors, publishers and PROs. They have worked with a wide range of music industry professionals including GRAMMY Award winners, platinum and gold recording artists, and music industry executives in every genre.
